CRM Quick Look

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 20 August 2026

CRM Quick Look is a macOS Quick Look extension that previews Canon Cinema RAW Light (.CRM) movie files. It is designed so that it cannot collect your data.

What we collect

Nothing. CRM Quick Look does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or usage data. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no user accounts.

How your files are handled

All previewing happens entirely on your Mac. When macOS asks the app to preview or thumbnail a .CRM file, the file is read locally, decoded locally, and displayed locally. Your footage never leaves your computer, and the app has no ability to send it anywhere: it runs in the macOS App Sandbox with read-only access to the files being previewed and no network access of any kind.

Decoded preview frames are held temporarily in memory while a preview is open and are discarded when it closes.

Network connections

The app itself makes no network connections. The one exception to be aware of: the “LibRaw Source Code” button in the app window opens libraw.org in your web browser. That visit is governed by your browser and by LibRaw’s own site policies, not by this app.

Third parties

No data is shared with third parties, because no data is collected. The app bundles the LibRaw and LLVM OpenMP libraries for local raw decoding; these run entirely on your Mac and do not communicate externally.

Children’s privacy

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before that version is released.
